Where to get Inspiration

So, I was reading a blog that was dugg on inspiration and was inspired to write my own post on what inspires me, or what helps me get ideas. I will separate the list into two sections – one will be on what inspires me, and the other will be on what gets me jotting stuff down on a piece of paper, notebook, or recording my thoughts on a recorder.

  • Listening to motivation talks (more specifically Tony Robbins) or audio files (on mp3 in my car) on a particular thing I’m trying to do, i.e. relationships, voice tonality, real-estate, and audio books.
  • Looking at my list of top quotes.
    • “To be always intending to make a new and better life but never to find time to set about it is as to put off eating and drinking and sleeping from one day to the next until you’re dead.” – Og Mandino
    • “Gam zu l’tovah.” – Nachum Ish Gamzu (translated from Hebrew into ‘And this too is for the good,’ or otherwise understood as, everything is for the best, or there’s something positive to be found in the negative.)
    • Know thyself, and seek self-improvement. – USMC Leadership Principles (Or as Tony Robbins would say, Commit to constant and never-ending improvement.)
    • Live with passion. – Anthony Robbins
    • “Only you know if you’re being true. You cannot lie to the reflection in the mirror.” – Hypnotica
    • “The grateful mind is constantly fixed upon the best. Therefore it tends to become the best. It takes the form or character of the best, and will receive the best.” – Wallace Wattles
    • “Eternity is not the hereafter . . . this is it. If you don’t get it here, you won’t get it anywhere. – Joseph Campbell
    • “This last two or three or four repetitions, that’s what makes the muscles grow. That’s what divides one from a champion and one from not being a champion. If you can go through the pain period, you make it to be a champion. If you can’t go through it, forget it. And that’s what most people lack – having the guts – the guts to go in and just say ‘I don’t care what happens.’ I have no fear of fainting in the gym, I threw up many times when I was working out. But it doesn’t matter, because it’s all worth it.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger (This is a parable for anything in life.)
    • “The object of all life is development; and everything that lives has an inalienable right to all the development it is capable of attaining.” – Wallace Wattles
  • Looking and feeling my vision through my ‘vision board’ which just helps me realize what I want to improve on.
    • Social
    • Health
    • Wealth
    • Education
  • Momentum with taking action on things

  • Taking a shower
  • Taking a walk, running, or working out
  • Isolation (as in sitting alone in the library, or people-watching at the mall)
  • Taking time out to think about new ideas
  • Reading (Nonfiction mainly)
