A good leader is someone that can inspire others to greatness. Bill Gates wasn’t the original person that knew this, but he definitely understood this principle. He said, “As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others.”

There are many texts about leadership that have a multitude of various traits which are necessary for leadership, but one of the main ones that I resonate with is ‘decisiveness.’ A leader must be able to make decisions. We may not have complete information in order to make a decision but decision-making is a muscle that we need to work on. As Tony Robbins has said, ‘To make better decisions, we need to make more of them.’ Decide to become a better leader, and that will be a step in the right direction on the path of improvement.

Self-improvement is another big idea when it comes to leadership. The Marine Corps Leadership Traits and Principles has a principle which states, ‘Know thyself; and seek self-improvement.’ Anthony Robbins has a principle which many people reference as the CANI principle which represents ‘constant and never-ending improvement.’

Work on being a leader for yourself by making many decision, and you will be able to become a leader for others.
