Gattaca

Gattaca is a movie about a man that surpasses the expectations bound by society on him. He proves that even if you are told that you can’t do something, willpower, and determination changes everything. Live for the dream, and truly live for it. My favorite quote from the movie was “I never saved anything for the swim back.” This was in response to when Vincent’s brother asked him how he managed to succeed against all odds. I love this quote because the calculated person will calculate the risk involved and make decisions based on that. The person that succeeds doesn’t save the energy for the swim back, but has all of that energy for the swim forward. This means that if you want to be successful at something, don’t think about how you are to recover, or how exactly you should do something, it means that you should go ahead and live your dream; do what you were meant to do, by just going forward and doing. Another quote I liked was “I got the better end of the deal. You have my body, and I have your dream.”

This move gets a B+ because it was well written.
